The Smells: Our lab rats report a sweet, borderline savory aroma. A couple of lab rats mentioned it smelled sweet with a faint hint of citrus, then they saw the name on the jar. It’s funny how much a name can sway things when smells are involved.

Garlic icing packs a generous amount of beta-caryophyllene at 3.80% and a respectable amount of humulene at 1.63%, which gives it that deep peppery, comfy earthy weight. The faint citrus lift our lab rats picked up on is most likely from the 0.64% limonene, but it’s more of a background brightness than a defining trait. Overall, this smells thick and sweet.

The Tastes: The inhale carries a sweet borderline savory funk over the tongue and into the lungs. The sweet funk is much more noticeable when you dab it than it is from simply smelling the jar. It’s rich, slightly creamy, and layered with a light kiss of garlic-adjacent funk that coats the mouth instead of flashing and disappearing.

On the exhale, the spice takes over. The caryophyllene shows up hard with a warm comfy pepper bite, followed by a dry, earthy finish from the humulene. There’s just enough citrus and faint floral softness from the linalool to keep it from becoming one-dimensional, but let’s be honest, Garlic Icing isn’t here to be delicate.

The Feels: Despite being labeled a hybrid, this leans comfortably into calm body territory. The terpene profile does most of the talking here. Caryophyllene and humulene drive a steady, grounding relaxation that settles into the shoulders and chest without immediately knocking you out.

Several lab rats reported a calm, slightly heavy body feel with a clear enough head to stay functional, at least for a while. It’s the kind of dab that starts cooperative and slowly becomes less interested in your plans.

Overall, with 70% total active cannabinoids and 9.06% terpene content, Garlic Icing by The Dope Depot is a terpene-led experience that prioritizes character over mass appeal. It’s one of those “you either get it or you don’t” jars, and if you do, it hits exactly where it should.

Rating: Our lab rats give Garlic Icing 7 pieces of cheese.
