The Smells: This one walks an interesting line between sweet fruit and grounded funk. The first impression, as reported by our lab rats, is soft and slightly fruity, not loud candy, more like overripe melon and muted berry. That likely comes from the lineage plus a modest 0.41% limonene giving it a gentle citrus lift rather than a sharp one.

Then the structure shows up. 2.96% beta-caryophyllene and 1.28% humulene anchor everything with spice and a dry, earthy backbone. There’s also a noticeable brightness from the 0.44% terpinolene and 0.45% pinene combo, which adds a slightly herbal, almost fresh-cut note that keeps the fruit from getting heavy. One lab rat mentioned it had an aroma that reminded him of some of the Lilac blends.

Overall, it smells balanced. Which is nice. Sometimes blends can get muddy or chaotic if you aren’t properly smelling the actual flower that’s going into them. Relying on names and what the internet says the genetics are is not enough. At least it isn’t for our lab rats.

The Tastes: Inhale leans into that soft fruit profile. You get a mellow sweetness that’s slightly creamy, with hints of melon and berry that feel natural rather than artificial.

The exhale shifts things. The spice from comfy caryophyllene comes forward, followed by a light herbal dryness from the pinene and terpinolene. It finishes cleaner than you’d expect from something with this much earth in the background. No syrupy linger, just a gradual fade.

The Feels: As you would expect from an indica blend it’s comfy, but not the to the point of knocking you out. This is more “settle in” than “lights out.” The caryophyllene and humulene combo bring a steady body relaxation that builds gradually instead of hitting all at once.

There’s still a little mental clarity hanging around, likely from the terpinolene and pinene, so you’re not immediately glued to the couch. That said, push it far enough and it will absolutely win that argument.

Overall, with 78% total active cannabinoids and 8.42% terpene content, Mountain Mama by The Dope Depot is as wet and wild as she is balanced, just like her namesake. The soft fruit notes sit on top of a well-built earthy foundation. The color is perfection as is the consistency. Just a really pleasing dab overall. Especially for the price point.
