The Smells: This is what happens when you don’t butcher fresh frozen material. Right out of the jar, it’s loud. Not subtle, not nuanced in a shy way. Just present.

Terpinolene at 4.64%. That’s not a typo, that’s a statement. It hits immediately with that bright, almost electric citrus-pine sweetness. Think grapefruit rind mixed with green herbs and a slightly tropical edge.

Backing it up is myrcene at 2.35%, which gives it that dense, almost syrupy fruit depth underneath the high notes. This is what keeps it from smelling thin or one-dimensional.

Then you’ve got 0.51% beta-pinene and 0.53% limonene reinforcing the citrus and adding structure so it doesn’t just dissolve into sweetness. There’s also a bit of alpha-phellandrene at 0.16% and touch of ocimene at 0.05%, which adds that slightly exotic, almost “fresh-cut plant in a humid greenhouse” vibe.

The Tastes: The inhale is bright and zippy. Grapefruit peel, slightly bitter in a good way, with that terpinolene sparkle hitting right away. It’s almost effervescent.

Mid-palate, the sweetness from the myrcene comes in and rounds it out. Not candy, more like actual fruit flesh behind the rind. On the exhale, it leans piney and slightly herbal, with a lingering citrus bitterness that hangs around just long enough to remind you this came from a plant, not a flavor lab. No muddiness. No collapse. Just clean, layered flavor all the way through. Perfection in dab form.

The Feels: In order to understand how it feels, one must first understand WHY it feels. Welp, the 81% TAC and 11.4% terpenes content is a pretty good place to start.

This is a proper sativa-leaning experience, as reported by our lab rats. Immediate head activation. Clear, alert, and slightly pushy in the way good terpinolene-heavy profiles tend to be.

The energy comes on fast, but it’s not chaotic. There’s just enough myrcene to keep it from tipping into anxiety territory, but don’t expect this to tuck you in for a nap. Focus, uplift, and that slightly “wired but functional” feeling. If you take too big of a dab, that’s on you.

Overall, Grapefruit Moonshine, and especially this batch of the fresh frozen stuff, is one of those runs where everything lines up. The fresh frozen input was handled perfectly, shout out to Pistil Pioneers for growing the good good, then taking care of it until we got her in our freezer.

The terpene retention is obvious. Nobody along the way decided to cook the life out of it for an extra percent of THC. It’s not chasing raw potency. It’s showcasing what the plant actually had to offer. This is what is possible when you treat your cannabis more like cabbage, and less like biomass.

Visually, it’s got that glossy, wet, terp-rich look. Slightly loose, definitely stir-worthy, and exactly what you should expect from an extract with 10% terps or more.
