The Smells: Cherry Shortcake comes in bright, fruity, citrusy, lightly creamy, and surprisingly grounded for something with a name that sounds like it should be sold next to novelty cupcakes at a dispensary grand opening.
Let’s see what the numbers say.
Myrcene leads the terpene profile at 1.69%, which gives Cherry Shortcake a soft fruit body right away. Not full swampy mango funk, but more of a ripe fruit depth that gives the blend some roundness. That makes sense with Tropicanna Cookies, Trop Boof, and Pineapple OG in the mix. There’s a juicy base here before the brighter notes even show up.
Right behind it is beta-caryophyllene at 1.65%, bringing warm pepper, light wood, and a little dry spice. That keeps the profile from becoming straight fruit glaze. It gives the whole thing structure, because apparently even dessert weed needs a skeleton.
Then limonene at 1.23% adds a strong citrus lift. That’s where the brighter side comes from. Think sweet orange peel, citrus zest, and a little tropical brightness rather than sharp lemon cleaner. The Tastes: The inhale starts sweet and bright, with limonene bringing citrus first. There’s a soft tropical fruit note underneath, helped along by the myrcene, but it doesn’t come across as heavy or syrupy.
Mid-palate, the caryophyllene steps in and gives it some peppery grip. That’s where the Crescendo side seems to show itself a little more. Warm spice, faint wood, and just enough dry edge to balance the sweeter fruit notes.
The exhale leans citrus-spice with a light creamy floral finish from the linalool. There’s also a little earthy humulene hanging around after the sweeter notes fade, which gives it a cleaner finish than the name might suggest.
One lab rat described it as “orange shortcake with pepper in the crust,” which sounds like a crime against baking but somehow makes sense here. The rodents remain useful, against all odds.
The Feels: Cherry Shortcake lands as a sativa, but not an overly sharp one. The limonene gives it some mental brightness and mood lift early, while the myrcene, caryophyllene, humulene, and linalool keep it from turning into anxious raccoon fuel.
The onset should feel upbeat but rounded. You may get some clear-headed lift and light focus up front, followed by a more comfortable body feel as it settles in. Not couchlock. Not hyperdrive. More like functional sativa with enough softness underneath to keep the ride smooth.

The biggest strength here is how balanced it feels. With this kind of name and genetic lineup, it could have easily turned into a sugary mess. Instead, the myrcene and limonene give it fruit and brightness, while caryophyllene and humulene keep it grounded. Sweet, citrusy, slightly creamy, and peppery enough to have a backbone.
