The Tastes: The name says dessert. The chemistry says “slow down, we’re still cannabis.” Beta-caryophyllene at 2.08% is doing what it always does, which is hijacking the foundation and turning it into a peppery, slightly woody, super comfy backbone. That’s a high enough number that whatever sweetness you’re expecting is immediately put on a leash.

Alpha-humulene at 0.67% stacks right on top of that with a dry, slightly bitter edge, pushing the profile away from creamy dessert and more toward spiced, earthy structure. Then limonene at 0.69% comes in and tries to brighten things up. It adds a clean citrus lift, but it’s more of a highlight than a lead note.

Where the “vanilla” and “milk” idea actually shows up is in the softer layer with linalool at 0.36% bringing that classic light floral sweetness that’s slightly creamy in perception. Alpha-terpineol at 0.14% adds a faintly soft, almost perfumed lift, then fenchol at 0.18% shows up with a subtle herbal brightness.

There’s also a small contribution from alpha-pinene at 0.12% and beta-pinene at 0.05%, which keeps a faint green, slightly sharp edge in the background.

Expect the inhale to hit spice-forward with a hint of citrus, the mid, some soft floral sweetness trying to read as creamy, and an exhale with a dry, peppery, slightly herbal finish. It’s less “vanilla pudding” and more “vanilla sprinkled on top of something earthy and slightly bitter.”

The Feels: Vanilla Swag is more potency-forward than terp-forward, despite having enough structure to matter. The onset is clean and relatively quick, driven by THC and supported by limonene and a bit of THCV (0.4%), which adds a slight mental lift and alertness. But it doesn’t stay there long.

Caryophyllene and humulene pull it back into a grounded, slightly weighty body feel, preventing it from ever feeling truly “sativa-energetic.” Linalool smooths the headspace, keeping things calm and controlled instead of sharp or jittery.

The end result, as reported by our lab rats, is that Vanilla Swag starts lightly uplifting and clear, then transitions into a balanced, slightly grounded comfy calm which stays through the finish, functional, and easy to ride. This is one of those “sativa” in classification, not in personality.

Overall, with 91% total active cannabinoids and 5.23% terpene content, Vanilla Swag by The Dope Depot is a good example of how names and terpene reality don’t always align.

The profile is built on a caryophyllene-heavy backbone, reinforced by humulene, with limonene adding just enough brightness to keep it from feeling flat. The softer terpenes like linalool and terpineol try to introduce that creamy, dessert-like impression, but they’re working uphill against a pretty dominant spice structure.

From a formulation standpoint, this leans more toward clean, stable, potency-driven cart than a terp showcase. It’s balanced, controlled, and predictable, but not especially loud or expressive.

If you’re expecting vanilla dessert, you’ll have to use your imagination a little. If you’re looking for a reliable, slightly uplifting but grounded cart, this makes a lot more sense.
