The Smells: Russian Blue comes through sweet, fruity, citrusy, piney, herbal, and peppery, with a little floral softness and some earthy depth underneath. Compared with a lot of the candy-heavy blends we keep running into, this one has a noticeably greener, sharper edge. Civilization survives another jar.

Let’s see what the numbers say.

Beta-caryophyllene leads at 1.46%, giving Russian Blue its main backbone. That brings warm pepper, dry spice, and light woody structure underneath the brighter ATF and Blue Dream side of the blend.

Myrcene follows at 1.09%, which is substantial. That adds deeper fruit, earth, musk, and herbal body, giving the profile more weight than the sativa label might make you expect.

Terpinolene lands at 0.76%, and that is one of the most interesting parts of this profile. At that level, it contributes a brighter mix of fresh herbs, pine, citrus peel, and slightly sweet floral character. It also helps explain why the nose feels more vivid and green than a straightforward caryophyllene-myrcene profile.

Limonene sits at 0.66%, adding citrus lift, while alpha-humulene at 0.45% brings dry earth and herbal depth. Linalool follows closely at 0.44%, adding a softer floral edge.

Beta-pinene at 0.34% and alpha-pinene at 0.31% are also worth paying attention to. Combined, the pinenes reinforce the fresh pine, herb, and green character already being pushed by the terpinolene.
Beta-ocimene at 0.19%, fenchol at 0.14%, and alpha-terpineol at 0.11% add more fresh herbs, green fruit, wood, and soft floral complexity.

All in all, our lab rats report sweet fruit, citrus peel, pine, fresh herbs, warm pepper, light earth, and a faint floral finish. There is some Blue Taffy sweetness here, but ATF and Blue Dream seem perfectly content to drag the profile back into the woods.

The Tastes: The inhale starts sweet and bright, with fruit and citrus showing up first. The limonene and terpinolene give the opening a fresh, slightly sharp citrus-herbal lift, while Blue Taffy adds enough sweetness to soften the edges.

Mid-palate, the myrcene brings deeper fruit, herbs, and earth, while beta-caryophyllene adds warm pepper and light woody spice. The pinene content becomes more noticeable toward the finish, adding fresh pine and green-herbal character. Linalool smooths things slightly with a floral note, keeping the back end from becoming too dry.

The exhale lands citrusy, piney, peppery, and herbal, with sweet fruit and a little earthy depth lingering afterward. One lab rat described it as sweet blue fruit dragged through a pine forest with pepper in its pockets. Ridiculous sentence. Surprisingly accurate dab note.

The Feels: Russian Blue is labeled sativa, and the profile supports a fairly lively but grounded interpretation of that label. The PhytoFact wheel leans strongly toward comfort and relaxation, but there is still some energy and focus in the mix. That makes sense when you look at the terpene spread.

Terpinolene, limonene, pinene, and ocimene give the profile brightness and lift, while myrcene, caryophyllene, humulene, and linalool keep things from becoming overly sharp. The result looks more balanced than racy. Think clear enough to stay engaged, but with enough body underneath to keep the experience comfortable.

With 75.98% cannabinoids and 6.87% terpenes, Russian Blue is much more terpene-forward than some of the recent high-potency batches.

THCA leads at 63.7%, followed by THC at 8.9%, CBCA at 1.9%, CBGA at 0.8%, THCVA at 0.3%, CBG at 0.2%, and CBDA at 0.2%. The cannabinoid total is lower than some of the 85% to 90% monsters we have been seeing, but 6.87% terpenes makes this the kind of extract where aroma and flavor should do a lot of the talking.

As always, your mileage may vary depending on dose, tolerance, and whether terpinolene-heavy sativas make you productive, contemplative, chatty, or suddenly convinced the garage needs reorganizing.

Overall, Russian Blue by The Dope Depot is a sweet, citrusy, pine-forward sativa with fresh herbs, warm pepper, earthy fruit, and a soft floral finish.

Visually, it has a rich golden amber color with a smooth, glossy, terp-rich consistency. The surface is mostly uniform and wet-looking, with good shine and no obvious separation. It looks more sauce-like than sugary, which tracks nicely with that higher terpene content.

The biggest strength here is how much complexity sits underneath the basic ATF, Blue Dream, and Blue Taffy blend. The caryophyllene and myrcene give it body, while terpinolene, limonene, and both pinenes keep the profile bright, green, and active.

Russian Blue is sweet without being candy-dominated, earthy without feeling heavy, and herbal enough to give the whole thing a more old-school sativa edge.

As with all high terpene extracts, keep the jar upright and be sure to give it a stir before you take a dab.

Rating: Our lab rats give Russian Blue 9 pieces of cheese.
