The Smells: The name Laughing Grass sounds like something your grandfather would’ve called weed before immediately launching into a story that somehow involved both tractors and tax avoidance.
When consulted for scientific purposes and absolutely not because they enjoy smelling jars all day, our lab rats described Laughing Grass as pine forest, citrus peel, fresh herbs, and warm pepper spice.
The terpene profile here is fascinating because it’s pulling hard in two different directions at once.
Let’s take a look at the numbers.
On one side you’ve got a substantial 2.35% beta-caryophyllene backed by 0.77% alpha-humulene, creating a warm earthy-spice foundation. Pepper, dry wood, herbal resin, and a bit of that classic cannabis funk all show up immediately.
Then the pinenes kick the door open.
Alpha-pinene sits at a massive 1.01%, while beta-pinene contributes another 0.75%, creating one of the most pine-forward profiles we’ve seen in quite a while. Combined, that’s nearly 1.8% pinene, which is enough to make itself known in a hurry. The result is bright evergreen needles, fresh-cut herbs, and clean forest air layered over a surprisingly substantial earthy backbone.
Meanwhile, 1.17% limonene adds a healthy citrus component that keeps everything lively. Citrus peel, lemon zest, and a faint sweetness float above the heavier pine and spice notes. One lab rat summed it up as, “Clean, loud, and remarkably energetic.”
The Tastes: The inhale comes in bright and crisp. The pinenes arrive first, bringing a fresh evergreen quality that’s difficult to miss. Not harsh or astringent, just intensely green and clean.
The limonene follows closely behind, adding citrus zest and a touch of sweetness that keeps the pine from becoming overwhelming.
Mid-palate is where the caryophyllene begins doing its work. Warm pepper spice and earthy resin gradually build underneath the brighter notes and provide structure.
The exhale settles into a surprisingly balanced combination of pine, citrus, and earthy spice. None of the individual components completely dominate the others.
There’s also a faint herbal quality lingering afterward that gives the finish an almost old-school cannabis character. One lab rat described it as “what a hiking trail would taste like if hiking trails were delicious.”
The Feels: If you were trying to design a terpene profile that screams “sativa,” you’d probably end up somewhere near this neighborhood.
The combination of elevated pinene and limonene creates a noticeably bright onset. Mental clarity, alertness, and focus show up quickly and stick around.
The high pinene content is especially interesting here. Many users associate pinene-heavy profiles with a more awake, engaged, and mentally sharp experience, and Laughing Grass certainly feels consistent with that reputation.
The caryophyllene and humulene provide enough body comfort to keep things from becoming jittery, but this is not a couch-oriented extract.
Creative projects, outdoor adventures, conversations, cleaning the garage you’ve been avoiding for six months, all feel considerably more appealing after a dab or two. Whether you actually do any of those things remains entirely your responsibility.
