Out of the Blue Dab PhytoFact Sheet
The Smells: Out of the Blue lands as fresh pine, citrus zest, earthy spice, soft florals, and subtle fruit. Bright, clean, and surprisingly refreshing.
Let’s see what the numbers have to say.
The first thing that jumps off the PhytoFact sheet is the combination of 2.26% beta-caryophyllene, 0.86% alpha-humulene, and an unusually strong showing from the pinenes. Alpha-pinene clocks in at 0.57% while beta-pinene adds another 0.39%, giving this blend far more fresh green character than most of the recent extracts crossing the lab rats’ desks.
Right away, our lab rats reported bright pine needles, fresh-cut herbs, citrus peel, and a noticeable floral sweetness riding underneath everything. It smells clean. Not in a disinfectant kind of way. More like standing in a mountain clearing after a rainstorm while somebody nearby is peeling an orange and singing a song about Florida Man.
The caryophyllene and humulene provide a familiar earthy-spice backbone that keeps the profile grounded, while 0.60% limonene adds enough citrus brightness to keep things lively.
Meanwhile, the Bluemosa bits start showing their hand through subtle fruit notes buried underneath the pine and citrus. They’re present, but this isn’t a fruit-forward extract. The pinenes are driving the bus here.
The 0.31% linalool adds a soft floral sweetness that smooths out the sharper edges and helps tie the entire profile together.
The Tastes: The inhale opens with a crisp pine note that immediately separates this blend from many of the heavier, earth-driven extracts we’ve been seeing lately.
The limonene follows closely behind, bringing bright citrus peel and a slight sweetness that complements the fresh green character rather than competing with it.
Mid-palate, the caryophyllene begins building structure. Warm pepper, dry wood, and earthy spice gradually emerge underneath the brighter top notes. The result is layered without becoming overly complicated.
The exhale leans more herbal and earthy while the pine and citrus linger surprisingly long afterward. The linalool leaves behind a faint floral softness that rounds out the finish nicely.
One lab rat described it as “forest ranger lemonade.” Another lab rat immediately stole that description and claimed it as his own. Such is the nature of scientific collaboration.
The Feels: This one feels every bit like the sativa it claims to be. The pinene and limonene combination creates a bright, clear-headed onset that arrives quickly and stays relatively focused. There’s a noticeable sense of mental alertness here that distinguishes it from the heavier myrcene-dominant hybrids and indicas.
That doesn’t mean it’s jittery. The substantial caryophyllene and humulene content provide enough body comfort to keep things balanced.
The result is uplifting without becoming chaotic, energetic without becoming anxious, and functional enough for daytime use assuming your definition of productivity includes occasionally staring at trees and wondering how many meetings could have been emails.
Of course, your mileage may vary depending on tolerance, metabolism, and how many dabs you decide qualifies as “just one more.”
Overall, with 82% total active cannabinoids and 6.27% terpene content, Out of the Blue by The Dope Depot delivers a profile that stands apart from many of the earth-and-pepper dominant blends currently filling the shelves here in Oregon.
Visually, it’s beautiful. Bright golden coloration, excellent homogenization, and a clean wet consistency that suggests the lab rats were paying attention when this one came through production.
The real strength here is the pinene content. At nearly one percent combined alpha- and beta-pinene, this blend brings a fresh, vibrant character that feels increasingly rare in a market overflowing with dessert strains trying desperately to taste like increasingly specific baked goods.
Out of the Blue feels like somebody opened a window.
As with all high terpene extracts, keep the jar upright and be sure to give it a stir before you take a dab.
Rating: Our lab rats give Out of the Blue 8 pieces of cheese.
