The Tastes: On the inhale, expect peppery citrus with a little sweet doughy edge underneath. The middle gets drier and more grounded, moving into earth, wood, light chem funk, and a faint cookie-like sweetness. The exhale finishes peppery, slightly bitter, herbal, and smooth, with just enough sweetness hanging around to keep the “Sugar” part from being a total paperwork error.
Let’s see what the numbers say.
Beta-caryophyllene leads at 2.66%, giving Chem Sugar its main backbone. That brings the pepper, dry wood, and resinous spice that show up through the middle and finish. It keeps the cookie and gelato side grounded instead of letting the profile wander off into sugary nonsense.
Alpha-humulene at 0.82% backs that up with dry earth and a slightly bitter, hoppy edge. Together, caryophyllene and humulene make this feel more classic indica than dessert cart, which is probably for the best. The marketplace has enough “sweet” products already trying to turn lungs into a bakery display case.
Limonene at 0.46% brings a small citrus lift on the inhale. It isn’t the lead note, but it gives the profile some brightness before the heavier pepper and earth take over.
Linalool at 0.38% adds a soft floral smoothness, while myrcene at 0.28% gives it a little body and mild herbal depth. Fenchol at 0.26% and alpha-terpineol at 0.20% add fresh herbal and lightly floral edges, with alpha-pinene at 0.14% and beta-pinene at 0.08% bringing a small green lift in the background.
The Feels: Chem Sugar lands as a grounded indica with a calm, comfortable lean. The limonene gives the onset a little brightness, but this is clearly not built for sharp, energetic lift. The caryophyllene and humulene pull the experience toward comfort pretty quickly, while linalool and myrcene smooth the edges into something more relaxed and body-aware.
This doesn’t look like a complete couch-melting monster based on the myrcene number, but it does read as steady, settled, and easygoing. The kind of indica that slows the room down a little without necessarily turning the user into decorative furniture. Small victories in the war against unnecessary ambition.
Overall, with 82% total active cannabinoids and 6.30% terpene content, Chem Sugar by The Dope Depot is a peppery, earthy indica with a restrained sweet-cookie edge and a clean herbal finish.
The terpene profile is built around caryophyllene, humulene, limonene, linalool, myrcene, fenchol, and alpha-terpineol. That gives it dry spice, earthy structure, mild citrus lift, floral smoothness, and enough sweetness to hint at the dessert genetics without letting them take over.
Rating: Our lab rats give Chem Sugar 8.1 pieces of cheese.
