The Smells: Mother of Gorilla comes across sweet and fruity up front, then quickly drops into pepper, earth, herbs, light wood, and a softer floral layer underneath.

MOB should bring some berry sweetness into the mix, while the Gorilla Glue 4 side gives the profile considerably more backbone than the name “Mother of Berries” might suggest.

Let’s take a look at the numbers.

Beta-caryophyllene leads at 2.23%, and it is not being subtle about it. That gives Mother of Gorilla a strong peppery, woody, dry-spice foundation and immediately explains why the profile feels more grounded than candy-forward.

Limonene follows at 0.92%, bringing citrus peel and some brighter top-end lift. That should help keep the heavier caryophyllene profile from turning into pure pepper and earth.

Then things get unusually tidy. Linalool lands at 0.72%, while myrcene and alpha-humulene both come in at 0.71%. Apparently the terpene department discovered symmetry and briefly became organized.

That linalool adds soft floral sweetness and smoothness. Myrcene brings deeper fruit, earth, and herbal body, while humulene adds dry wood, herbs, and a little more earthy structure. Together, those three make a substantial secondary layer behind the caryophyllene and limonene.

Beta-pinene and fenchol both sit at 0.21%, alpha-terpineol reaches 0.18%, and alpha-pinene lands at 0.09%. Those smaller contributors add light pine, fresh green herbs, woody freshness, and a softer floral-creamy edge.

All in all, our lab rats report sweet berry fruit, citrus peel, warm pepper, dry wood, herbs, soft florals, and earthy depth. The fruit is there, but this is very clearly not a jar of berry candy wearing an indica sticker for legal purposes.

The Tastes: The inhale starts smoother and sweeter than the terpene ranking might suggest, with fruit and citrus showing first. The limonene gives the opening some brightness, while the MOB side should bring that softer berry character into the mix. It does not stay sweet for long, though.

Mid-palate, the beta-caryophyllene takes over with warm pepper and woody spice. Myrcene adds deeper fruit and earth underneath, while humulene dries the profile out with more herbal and woody character.

Linalool is important here too. At 0.72%, it gives the flavor a softer floral quality and helps round off some of the sharper pepper and citrus edges.

The exhale finishes peppery, earthy, lightly floral, and herbal, with lingering fruit and citrus sweetness in the background. One lab rat described it as berries dragged through a pepper garden, which is objectively a terrible way to treat berries but a fairly good description of the dab.

The Feels: Mother of Gorilla is labeled indica, and the PhytoFact wheel leans heavily toward comfort and relaxation, with a decent amount of calm and much smaller contributions from energy, inspiration, and focus.

The terpene profile makes that direction pretty believable. Caryophyllene is dominant, and it is backed by meaningful amounts of linalool, myrcene, and humulene. Limonene keeps a little brightness in the mix, but the overall structure is strongly weighted toward the heavier, more grounded side.

This feels like the kind of indica that should settle in rather than immediately flatten you. There is enough limonene and pinene activity to keep the front end from feeling dead, but the middle and finish look built for comfort.

With 80.57% cannabinoids and 6.82% terpenes, Mother of Gorilla has a notably strong terpene load. THCA leads at 72.4%, followed by THC at 5.6%, CBGA at 1.0%, CBCA at 0.9%, THCVA at 0.3%, CBG at 0.2%, and CBDA at 0.2%.

That 6.82% terpene total is probably the headline here. More importantly, it isn’t just one giant terpene carrying the whole profile. Caryophyllene leads decisively, but limonene, linalool, myrcene, and humulene all contribute meaningful weight behind it.

As always, your mileage may vary depending on dose, tolerance, and whether Gorilla Glue genetics make you relaxed, hungry, contemplative, or permanently fused to whatever furniture happened to be nearby.

Overall, Mother of Gorilla by The Dope Depot is a fruity, peppery indica with berry sweetness, citrus peel, dry wood, herbs, florals, and earthy depth.

Visually, it has a rich golden-amber color with a smooth, glossy, sauce-heavy consistency. The surface looks uniform and terp-rich with very little visible crystallization or separation. It’s one of those deceptively simple-looking jars where the texture says “oil” and the lab sheet says “there are apparently seventeen things arguing inside this.”

The biggest strength here is the depth of the terpene profile. 2.23% beta-caryophyllene provides a strong structural base, but the 0.92% limonene, 0.72% linalool, 0.71% myrcene, and 0.71% humulene keep it from becoming a one-note pepper bomb.

Mother of Gorilla is sweet enough to show the MOB side, earthy and peppery enough to show the GG4 influence, and terp-heavy enough to make the whole thing considerably more interesting than the cannabinoid number alone would suggest.

As with all high terpene extracts, keep the jar upright and be sure to give it a stir before you take a dab.

Rating: Our lab rats give Mother of Gorilla 8.5 pieces of cheese.
